Being too cheap to buy a new mattress, I picked this up when it was on sale, and couldn’t be happier with it. I’d been wary of trying memory foam, given the wide variety of complaints about them (too small, smells bad, too hot, etc.), but now I wish I had given in sooner. This fits perfectly, lost its weird odor in about two days, and is cooler than just my unpadded mattress. And, while it doesn’t make my mattress seem comfy enough to be brand new, its more than comfy enough to put off buying a new one a while longer.

This foam topper is 8 pounds out of the box which puts the density at 3 pounds per cubic food. This is the way one measures the quality of foam toppers. The previous one that I bought from eBay (and am in the process of returning) was a cheap 1.5 pounds per cubic foot which is on the low end. To find the density, multiply the dimensions (e.g. 30×72×2 and divide by 12, 3 times) and then divide the weight by this number. 8 pounds in this case. The high end is around 5 pounds per cubic foot.

You will find that sleeping on foams of different densities feels rough;y the same. The difference is in how long they last, the higher the density, the longer they will last.

Hopes this helps and sweet dreams.

This visco elastic is the same as the ones out there going for close to $200.00. It came packaged nicely and the first night on my hospital bed i have at home i can’t tell you the pressure it took off my back and the comfort. Being i have 4 herniated discs, 8 pinched nerves and both problems with my si joints among other health issues, the 2 inch was very plush and has yet to lose it’s comfort and go down like pillows to. Excellent price and excellent product. I run the QVC Addicts board and have posted about this and so many have ordered and i keep getting excellent feedback from them also.

I love my very hard mattress which keeps my back in decent shape but lately I have been noticing painful pressure points on my hips which make me toss and turn all night. After looking for a pillow top (there is none on my mattress) I turned to Amazon for reviews, read the reviews here and decided on this mattress top. Thank all of you who placed reviews here! I am delighted with my choice. No more pressure points. Very little tossing and turning. No bad foam rubber odor. Very, very comfortable. This pad will not turn a worn out old mattress into a new one, but if you have a good supportive mattress that is just a bit uncomfortable, this is a really good thing.

I purchased this Mattress Topper over a year ago now and I still love it. It is very soft and adds the right amount of support for my aching back. Two things I am not happy about; the first is when you unroll it from the box it comes in; it has a terrible chemical odor. It does fade in about 3 weeks but can be strong for people with sensitivity to smells. It did fade and I would recommend dealing with it if you can. The second problem which isn’t a real biggie is the color of the foam starts to turn yellow over time. Now, I don’t know if it’s because I sleep with an electric blanket all the time and it is adding to the color change but it is happening. But who really cares if it’s being covered with sheets and blankets anyway right?

Over all I am very happy with the added comfort and for the price it is so worth it. Getting cozy in a warm foamy bed…ahhh nothing better.

I own a Tempurpedic mattress, which is my bed at home. I also own the Sleep Better 2-Inch Visco Elastic Memory Foam Mattress Topper, Queen, which I used on top of an Aerobed 18in Raised Queen Premium Guest Bed, Queen and slept on 4 nights per week for a few months to save commuting to San Francisco. I now also own the Sleep Better 3-Inch Visco Elastic Memory Foam Mattress Topper, Queen, which I’m using atop a friend’s regular mattress that’s otherwise like sleeping on a slab of granite.

First off, the foam for the Sleep Better mattress toppers is not the same as the brand name Tempurpedic foam. The Tempurpedic foam is significantly more dense, meaning: 1) it takes a bit longer to respond to your weight / body heat; 2) it gives you significantly more support; and 3) it takes a bit longer to recover when you move.

I actually slightly prefer the 2″ topper on the Aerobed to my $1200 Tempurpedic mattress [boy, do I hate to say that!]. The 3″ topper on the granite-like mattress is good, but is my least favored combination.

The 3″ topper is too soft and too thick. I sink so deeply into it that it’s actually some effort to roll over at night. I got used to it after a few nights, and no longer wake up to roll, but I found it annoying. It’s certainly not a bad experience. If I hadn’t tried the other 2 options, and was only comparing it to sleeping on the granite mattress from h*ll, I would’ve been thrilled with it. But knowing what the other options are like, it’s my least favored of 3 good choices.

The Tempurpedic is a fantastic mattress, and I’ll certainly keep it as my primary bed. My only niggling complaint is that, being temperature sensitive, my sleeping experience is different in summer vs. winter. In the hottest month of summer, the mattress is just a bit too soft, and my back isn’t optimally supported. In the coldest month of winter, the mattress is a bit too hard. It does soften up after I’ve been in it for a few minutes, but it’s noticeable when you first get in it.

I really like the combination of the Aerobed and the 2″ topper. The Aerobed let me adjust the overall firmness of the mattress and provided all the support. But the tufting of the Aerobed results in deep divots in the surface, which are not comfortable. The 2″ topper smoothed out the divots and provided excellent cushioning, without being so deep that I sunk into it and lost the mattress’s support.

The brand name Tempurpedic products are definitely superior to all competitors I’ve tried, so if you can afford them, go for it. If not, the Sleep Better products are good options. I recommend the 2″ topper over 3″. It’s more comfortable, cheaper, and your sheets fit more easily.

This is definitely my best purchase of 2005! I only wish I had purchased this sooner. I now get the best sleep of my life, I no longer suffer from hip pain in the a.m. and I feel warm and comfortable like I’m in a cocoon. One of the biggest complaints of memory foam is that it DOES absorb your body heat, which means you will be warmer when you sleep on this rather than directly on your mattress. I live in Florida, so that just means adjusting my thermostat and using a ceiling fan. It is a bit warmer, but not to the point where you sweat. It DOES smell of chemicals when you first open it. Just let it sit out for a day or two until the chemical smell disappears. That happens with all memory foam mattress toppers. This one IS about 1-2″ short, but do your feet need memory foam? Do your feet extend to the very tip of your bed? Mine don’t… the missing inch or two just means your sheets fit better. Best of all, this memory foam topper is not an environment where dust mites (or bed bugs) can live so it WILL help allergy sufferers greatly! I would especially recommend this to anyone on bed rest, anyone in the hospital, elderly people (they tend to have joint problems), allergy suffers, those with asthma, and ANYONE wanting the best nights sleep of their life! This mattress topper will improve any mattress and I cannot imagine not having it. I will be buying one for each of my children this month as I am finally convinced of the benefits of memory foam!

I am pleased with the addition of this memory foam mattress to my bed. You sink (only slightly) into bed and it feels very comfortable. Other complaints on this page are valid – it does stink (though it goes away after a couple days) and it is a bit short (which does help the sheets fit better). I’d say for the price it is one of the best deals out there.

I bought this to soften a bed given by my apartment complex. It is truly amazing! It’s very soft, I feel like I’m sleeping on air. The packaging was a little bit of a pain to open (they had vacuum wrapped it). But other than that I am extremely pleased! I do recommend laying it on the floor for at least a few hours to flatten out, if not over night. But I have no bumps or wrinkles on mine! I would totally buy again.

I have to admit, I was hesitant to purchase this. I’m a skeptic by nature, and could only find one review to go off of, but I took a chance and ordered it anyway. I have a great mattress which I purchased many years ago. Unfortunately, it’s very firm , which was my preference at the time, but now I find I need a softer bed. This topper is saving me from buying a brand new mattress. Definitely worth the money.

My order came before the estimated delivery date. The bed foam is also very comfortable. The reason why I bought this product is because the metal springs on my bed aches my back every day and I have a very hard time sleeping. After placing the foam on my bed and layed on it… it’s metal springs free! The only thing you should be prepared for is the STRONG aroma of the new package. No kidding, place the bed foam on your bed and let it stand for a couple hours before you place your bed sheets. Leave your windows and door wide open!!! No joke the smell gets me a bit high however, it leaves me very nauseous.

My wife bought this for us recently. The claim to be cooler than other memory foam toppers is correct. Other than that, we didn’t find it very comfortable at all. For starters, it took a few days for it to not be wrinkled and pinched. After that, it still has a hump in the middle. I’d say it’s like sleeping on a gym mat. Because I’m a man with no curves in my hips, I was more tolerant than my wife who found it very uncomfortable.

I will say this, if you sleep on your back and are struggling with back problems, this topper might actually be what you need. I found it relatively OK to sleep on my back. It seamed supportive in that way. I couldn’t stay on my side for very long without feeling uncomfortable.

We ended up going with two 1.5″ green memory foam toppers from WalMart and we’re fairly comfortable now. It seams to be a bit softer than this foam.

Purchased ours from a local discount store, but wanted to share our experience here. Our mattress is overly soft with definite furrows, but this topper has given it new life. Feels like a different bed! Soft yet supportive. We’ve had the topper about 2 months & love it so far. Initially, we were concerned that it wouldn’t fit the bed, but it flattens out & any wrinkles are smoothed over a few days. No regrets. Good investment.
